About Alexa

Alexa Goldstein is a director, teaching artist, and storyteller. She graduated from Northwestern University in 2024 with degrees in Theatre, Psychology, and French. She has a love of learning and integrating different ideas into her work as a director, specifically looking at universal human truths that connect us all.

Alexa operates under the goal of facilitating people-centered processes and joyful rehearsal rooms, with the aim of bringing some more good into the world and giving space for our inner child. She recently directed the 81st Annual Dolphin Show’s production of Kinky Boots. The Dolphin Show is the largest student produced musical in the country, housed in Cahn Auditorium at Northwestern University.

Alexa has also directed multiple other productions at the collegiate level. One recent work was a play for young audiences, specifically ages nine and up. She then took this play on tour last spring to local Evanston schools. Other directing credits include a song cycle on campus and developing a new work play, working closely with the playwright and actors to build this show. She recently directed a new work play as part of the Agnes Nixon Playwriting Festival with the goal of creative development for both the plays and artists involved. Alexa has also worked as the marketing director, special events chair, and community outreach chair on her theatre board, Arts Alliance. Through this, she has developed social media management skills, graphic design abilities, and knowledge on the technical and business sides of stage productions.
